ASPAC 2015: Key Note Speeches

The Mind Museum is this year's host of the Asia Pacific Network of Science & Technology Centres (ASPAC) conference, an annual conference where representatives of science museums, centers and related fields from the region, as well as affiliates from North America and Europe, come together to network and to discuss best practices in science communication.

From New Zealand, to China, to Singapore, to Korea and to Brunei, the ASPAC conference now
makes its way to the Philippines.

Two exceptional speakers will talk on what it means to creatively connect with a diverse audience in a fast-paced, ever-changing world. Dr. Nancy C. Andreasen is a U.S. National Medal of Science recipient while Joe Rhode is the senior vice president and creative executive of Walt Disney Imagineering.

On Monday, April 27, Dr. Nancy Andreasen, highly respected neuroscientist and US National Medal of Science Recipient, will share her work on how the brain and creativity work together.

Andreasen is currently Andrew H. Woods Chair of Psychiatry and director of the Neuroimaging Research Center and the Mental Health Clinical Research Center at The University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine.

On Tuesday, April 28, Joe Rohde, Senior Vice President and Creative Executive of Walt Disney's Imagineering Division, will talk about the scientific inspiration behind Disney's compelling attractions.

Rohde is the genius behind many of the company's theme parks, including the Animal Kingdom.
